Signature Collection — How It Works

Your Signature Collection piece begins with your own photographs.

Upload up to five clear images of your dog or horse, choosing photographs that best capture their expression, character, distinctive breed features and the details that make them individual. Clear head and profile photographs are especially helpful, while additional images can help us understand markings, coat detail and character.

Each set of photographs is reviewed individually by the Field Cottage Designs studio and interpreted in our distinctive Signature Collection house style. Rather than selecting from a range of artwork treatments, you are choosing a carefully developed, contemporary tonal design language created specifically for the Signature Collection.

Your finished artwork is developed as a bespoke piece of wearable design, with composition, line, tonal treatment and placement considered together so that the final garment feels refined, balanced and distinctly personal.

Once the artwork has been prepared, we will contact you if we need any further information before production.

Each finished Signature Collection garment is individually prepared in our West Sussex studio and supplied with its own Certificate of Authenticity and Signature Collection archive reference, allowing your approved artwork to be identified for future Signature Collection pieces.

Every finished Signature Collection design is recorded in the Field Cottage Designs studio archive and supplied with its own Certificate of Authenticity and unique archive reference.

Your archive reference identifies the approved artwork created for your animal. It means that, should you wish to commission another Signature Collection piece in the future, we can return to the archived design rather than beginning the artwork process again from scratch.

Your archived artwork may also be suitable for future Signature Collection products as the collection develops — from additional garments to other carefully selected pieces.

The archive forms part of the Signature Collection experience: your artwork is not simply created for one garment, but retained as part of its continuing provenance with Field Cottage Designs.

Care
Wash inside out with similar colours at 30°C.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Iron inside out on a low setting, avoiding direct contact with the printed artwork.
Do not dry clean.

To help preserve the tonal artwork and finish of your Signature Collection piece, we recommend washing only when necessary and avoiding high temperatures.

Sleeve personalisation is entirely optional.

If you choose to add your dog or horse’s name, initials or a meaningful date, please consider whether you are comfortable displaying that information when wearing your garment in public.

For additional discretion, you may prefer initials, Roman numerals or another personal reference that has meaning to you without identifying your animal directly.

Signature Collection artwork is designed to sit subtly against the garment rather than appear as a high-contrast print.

Colours shown on screen are intended as a guide only. Differences in screen settings, brightness and device display can affect how both the garment colour and tonal artwork appear online.

We carefully match each Signature Collection artwork colour to its chosen garment to create the intended understated tonal finish. The finished piece may therefore appear slightly different from the digital images shown, while remaining within the approved Signature Collection colour treatment.

The images shown on this product page are intended to illustrate the Signature Collection style, tonal treatments, garment colours and possible artwork placement.

Some examples use Field Cottage Designs house imagery and studio-created artwork to demonstrate the look and feel of the collection. Your own Signature Collection piece will be individually created from the photographs you provide, so the final artwork, composition and detailing will be unique to your animal.

Photographs supplied by customers remain private reference material for the creation of their own artwork. We will not use your original photographs, or the finished artwork created specifically from them, on another customer’s garment without your express permission.

Because the Signature Collection follows a distinctive house style, animals with similar breeds, markings, poses or characteristics may naturally be represented in a similar visual way. However, your own photographs are never simply reused or transferred to create another customer’s piece.

Once your Signature Collection artwork has been approved, the finished design may be retained securely within the Field Cottage Designs archive under its unique archive reference. This allows us to identify and reuse your approved artwork for future Signature Collection pieces for you, without recreating the design from scratch.
